2in1 simple holodeck - user guide
Overview
The 2in1 combines an Interior Simple Holodeck with an Exterior Simple Holodeck. You control the rezzing of the rooms with the control panel on the wall. The green half rezzes the interior scenes and the blue half the exterior scenes. The notecards that control the menu are in the wall panel halves.
Scenes are stored in the floor panels; interior in the green, exterior in the blue.
When you select a scene, the Holodeck rezzes an invisible prim in the middle of the floor that holds information about the position of the objects. Once a scene is rezzed, make sure you don't move that prim or shift the scene in any way.
Common Mistakes
1. Thinking that you do not have to read the manual.
2. De-linking, moving or rotating the floor panel and wall panel. If you move the holodeck, move the whole thing after it's been cleared.

Getting Started
Open the box, choose Copy to Inventory. Rez the footprint that corresponds to your block size. Locate it on your block so that the outer limits of the footprint are within your property boundaries. (You may need to choose Property Lines on the View menu ). This is to make sure that the scenes you buy don't rez over the boundaries and upset the neighbours.
Drag the 2in1 into world and move it so that it fits exactly on the green inner area. Now you can delete the footprint.
Different Kinds of Scenes
a. Interior scenes; built using the green interior panel.
b. Exterior scenes; built using the blue exterior panel.
c. Exterior/Interior (Xin) scenes; built using the blue exterior panel. These can cover the whole footprint area shown in the templates.
If you're building to sell scenes, you have these choices:
Interior
Footprint: 17.89m deep by 14.75m wide
Prims: Up to you, if you keep it to less than 85 the scene will be usable by people on 512 blocks. Having said that, they account for only 20% of our market.
1024 Exterior
Maximum footprint: 29 x 30m.
Prims: 100
2048 Exterior
Maximum footprint: 49 x 30m.
Prims: 230
4096 Exterior
Maximum footprint: 49 x 49m.
Prims: 380
Custom Exterior
Where you see the word 'Custom', it means the builder has free reign on the prims. So just check to make sure you've got enough prims on your land free for that scene.
Installing New Scenes
First, hit the Clear button to empty your Holodeck. Right click and edit the floor of the Holodeck. Choose Edit Linked Parts then left click the appropriate colored floor panel. Choose the Content tab.
In your inventory, find the scene you just bought. If it's boxed, unpack it. Copy the name of the scene then drag the scene into the Content tab's window.
Re-do the menu notecard, read on ...
Naming Scenes
Right click the appropriate wall panel and click Edit, then in the Edit dialogue box tick Edit Linked Parts. Left click the appropriate colored panel then choose the Content tab. Double click the notecard called 'Menu' and paste in the scene name. When naming the buttons, remember you only have 11 letters per scene, including spaces.
The format is "button name:scene name". If you want to create a 'My Hot Tub' button and the name of the scene was Jacuzzi, you would write My Hot Tub:Jacuzzi. The name of the scene is CaSe SenSiTivE, if you don't get the capitals right it won't work. Watch out you don't accidentally put a space after the colon.
Any line starting with "//" is a comment; it doesn't affect the script.
Save the menu and allow 10 seconds before reloading the new scene.
The button positions are a little odd. They're just the limitations of the Second Life interface; nothing we can do about them ...
Prims
The prims in the particular scene you load will count towards your prim allotment. The inert scenes will not count.
Interference
Adjacent 2in1 Holodecks will not interfere with each other if each is centrally located on a 2048 or a 4096 block. However, adjacent 1024 blocks with 2in1 Holodecks WILL interfere with each other so our recommendation is to purchase a larger block or live next to people that think Holodecks are STUPID. We will not get involved in disputes between neighbours.
